Sourdough is not a flavor or type of bread.

Its a method of leavening, its the original and best way to make bread rise. its best because the fermentation makes the bread easier to digest!

We are a home-based, FL cottage law micro bakery in Avon Park, FL. We specialize in small batch sourdough breads and naturally leavened treats. All baked goods are made with wild yeast sourdough culture, organic flours, and a lot of love.

Our desire is to stay small and intimate, utilizing the best ingredients and keeping things as local as we can. We believe healthy, homemade bread is one of the biggest joys in life. We believe in having a connection with the food you eat. We believe bakeries are at the heart of a community. We want to grow our bakery alongside our community.

FAQs

How long does your bread stay fresh?

My breads are made with the freshest ingredients and with lots of water. Because of this, the bread will stay fresh for 3-4 days if stored properly. I personally store my bread in a reusable bread bag or paper bag to make sure the crust stays crispy. Storing in reusable wrap is always a great way to keep bread fresh and soft but not too soft!

Bread boxes work great, as well!

It may seem counterintuitive but the refrigerator is not a great place to store your bread, it actually makes it stale faster.

All of my breads can easily be frozen whole or sliced. This is our preferred way to keep bread we know we won’t eat right away. Simply slice the bread, place it in a freezer bag, try to remove as much air as possible, and place it in the freezer. Pop it out when you want a slice. Whole loaves can always be frozen and warmed up in the oven, or placed on the counter to unthaw.

Do you teach classes?

We do! They are offered every few months, in our kitchen. Classes are small and will take you through starter to shaping a loaf, that you will take home and bake. Check our events tab for the available classes and watch Facebook for new announcements

Is your home nut or common allergen free?

Tree nuts and other common allergens such as dairy, sesame seeds and soy are present in my home and regularly consumed. I do my best to sanitize and keep my ingredients carefully sealed and separate but I cannot guarantee that there will not be cross contamination. All ingredients and common allergens are listed on our packaging.

Is sourdough gluten free?

Sourdough is not gluten free. Wheat and rye sourdough do contain less gluten but is not safe for someone with celiacs. Currently, I do not produce anything that is gluten free.
